When God Was Through Creating He Took a Break

5 Oct

It was fun to spend some time in the studio this week. It is amazing how God shares with us His gift of creativity and the freedom to play with the colors and elements He has designed. I imagine eternity will be filled with new ways to express ourselves through music, art and wholehearted exploration of all the things He has made for our enjoyment.

When God was finished creating He took a break. He did this so we could stop and smell the huckleberries or feel the sun on our skin—just in case we get too busy to remember all the wonderful things He has created for our enjoyment. I like that He gave us an imagination so we could rearrange it and share from our own unique perspective.

Every child is an artist.
The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.
 –Pablo Picasso

Ah, but we never have to put away our colors. We don’t have to grow up because we are children of God and He always grants us permission to play.
